Winter magic in Wanne-Eickel: MGC players clear away at tournaments!
On the first weekend of 2025, the minigolfer started: inside the MGC Rot-Weiss Wanne-Eickel into the new competition year with numerous tournament participation. A highlight was the winter magic, where the fifth matchday of the winter series was held. Sven Martinez-Moreno achieved an outstanding 24 round and secured victory with a total of 54 strokes. He leads the overall ranking with a 4 -point lead over Joachim Garden, while Daniela Welz took third place in the overall ranking.
As part of the winter cup, in which 11 active participation, two round felt golf were played. Chris KougioMzidis set a scale with 28 strokes in round two and won a total of 64 strokes. Willi Hettrich followed him in second place with 72 strokes, while Heinz Pribyl took third place with 73 strokes. In the overall ranking, Rudolf Ginschel leads with 143.5 points, followed by Willi Hettrich with 132.5 and Heinz Pribyl with 132.0 points.
senior tournament in Halver
The senior tournament also took place in the Halle in Halver on the first weekend, which was the first tournament of 2025 and was held for over two days. On Sunday, three seniors from Wanne-Eickel took part: Patrick Knoll (young seniors), Joachim Garden (older seniors) and Willi Hettrich (Ü 70). All three athletes had difficulties due to a lack of training and the adverse weather conditions. Patrick Knoll landed in 15th place in his category and stayed under 100 strokes. Joachim Garden reached 22nd place, while Willi Hettrich achieved the best result with 94 strokes and took second place in the Ü 70 category.
In two weeks in the Halveran Halle there will be a youth ranking tournament in which the seniors can bring in their experiences.
The mini golf course in Wanne-Eickel is currently during the winter break, and public play is resting until further notice. However, a winter tournament takes place every Saturday and a training winter magic is offered for club members. The last matchday of the Wanner Winter Cup was planned for December 28, 2024. On December 21, 2024, nine active people took part in the competition despite the bad weather, with Chris Kougioumzidis winning 64 strokes.
The minigolfer: Inside the MGC Wanne-Eickel also took part in other tournaments, including the Rhein-Ruhr Youth Cup, and impressed with services such as winning the gold medal at the GermanadventureGolfmaster in Freudenstadt by Willi Hettrich.
