In the pedestrian zone of Löhne, there was a dramatic incident on Tuesday morning when a 42-year-old driver of an electric scooter tried to escape police control. The man was obviously under the influence of alcohol and drugs, which alarmed the officials. At 12 p.m. he drove the pedestrian zone illegally and tried to escape the police.

When the police found alcohol and drug-typical abnormalities, the driver made an attempted escape. After a short persecution, he could be obtained, but resisted and threatened with a pocket knife. Finally, the emergency services overpowered the man and brought him to the police station, where a blood sample was taken. During the search, the officials also found narcotics and prescription drugs.
