Schalke star Sylla leaves his dog Ghosty in the animal shelter!

The situation surrounding Moussa Sylla from Schalke 04 is a topic of conversation. The attacker, who moved from FC Pau to Schalke for a whopping €2.5 million before last season, has surprisingly lost interest in his dog, Ghosty. Sylla brings his wife and dog with him from Germany, but things have changed since then. In June 2023, Ghosty was placed with a dog sitter in Mülheim who has already looked after the loyal four-legged friend several times. But the Sylla family stopped calling.

A Schalke employee let it be known via voice message that Sylla “no longer had any use” for the dog. In August 2023, Ghosty was finally brought to the Essen animal shelter. There the dog could be considered a listed dog, which makes adoption considerably more difficult. In Germany there are strict requirements for keeping such dogs, including proof of expertise, which the Düsseldorf public order office does not have.

Problems for Sylla

The whole thing is further complicated because Ghosty is also missing important vaccinations, including those against rabies. The chairwoman of the Essen animal protection association sees Sylla's behavior as “irresponsible” and accuses him of not caring about the dog's well-being. Proceedings based on the Dog Movement and Import Restriction Act have already been initiated against Sylla. While Sylla's athletic achievements on the field are important, what happens here is a completely different but no less significant story.

The topic of pets is also being discussed in other areas. This is how the couple Elena Moussa and Greg Gutfeld brought a breath of fresh air into their lives. The two became parents to a little daughter named Mira in 2024. On Valentine's Day 2025, Elena shared the first photos of her daughter with the world on Instagram. In lovingly decorated scenes, little Mira is seen in a gray knitted outfit and beige socks, while Elena holds her in a red knitted sweater. The couple is also proud of their French bulldog Gus, who couldn't be missing from the pictures.

A look at the Gutfeld family

Although Greg Gutfeld himself has not yet shared any pictures of Mira on his social media, this shows that the love of animals and children often go hand in hand. However, on his most recent Instagram post, it was his dog Gus that caught the attention. In December 2024, Gutfeld had to take a short break due to health problems, but he has since returned to Fox News screens.

Sylla and Gutfeld's stories show how different topics surrounding responsibility, family and the loving relationship with pets are discussed in public. While Sylla is criticized, Gutfeld shows how wonderful time with a newborn and a loyal dog can be. The theme of animal protection and responsibility runs through both stories and makes you think.
