The youngest headmaster in Oberbergische: A fresh wind for Reichshof!

The youngest headmaster in Oberbergische: A fresh wind for Reichshof!
Markus Sutoris officially took over the management of the Reichshof comprehensive school. At the age of 38, he succeeded Annemarie Halfar, who retired after six years in September. Until Sutoris' took office, the headmaster position was vacant, and Jörg Schmoock, the deputy director, had taken responsibility.
Sutoris brings extensive experience in school development. Previously, he worked at the Gummersbach comprehensive school, where he worked as a department head for born 5 to 7 for seven years. His academic career began at the University of Siegen, where he studied mathematics, geography and sport in teaching. He also went on a trip around the world before completing his legal clerkship at the Realschule Lindlar. These experiences shape his mission statement, which focuses on equal opportunities for students. Sutoris describes himself as a "convinced comprehensive school teacher" and plans to give lessons himself.
school challenges and future vision
A central concern of Sutoris will be to tackle the shortage of teachers, which is a challenge for many schools in Germany. At the Reichshof comprehensive school, he strives to spend about half of his working hours in class after the summer vacation, and first begins with math lessons in 8th grade.
The Reichshof comprehensive school has not only tried to make a new school management, but also faces an almost complete change of school management. The didactic director and the senior leader also retire. Sutori's predictable steps in the school infrastructure are necessary to build on the proven success of the school.
a contribution to sustainable development
The Reichshof comprehensive school was awarded the NRW (NUA) nature and environmental protection academy and the Ministry of School and Environment as the “School of the Future 2016-2020”. This honor emphasizes the commitment of students and teachers in projects on education for sustainable development. Headmistress Anne Halfar, who successfully follows Sutoris, has for the team of teachers "Flying buildings", in particular Klaus Konnerth and Dr. Melanie Bisson-Ritter, thought.
- The project "Flying Constructions" focuses on future -oriented sustainability formation.
- students learn the responsible use of resources and are committed to biodiversity.
- The sustainable school cooperative "Bioscharsg" promotes understanding of economic, ecological and social relationships.
- Projects of the student cooperative include furniture construction from pallets and the supply of the cafeteria with self -made vegetables and herbs.
- The 9th grade operates a juice bar with seasonal and biological products.
These initiatives have been recognized as best practice examples and reflect the committed attitude of the school community. The students not only receive theoretical knowledge, but also practical experiences in the field of sustainable development.
Markus Sutoris is married and father of two children aged six and eight years. He lives with his family in Oberwiehl and likes to devote himself to sporting activities such as skiing, diving and sailing in his free time. With a clear focus on equal opportunities and sustainable education, he is now entering a decisive phase of his career as headmaster of the Reichshof comprehensive school.
