The Paderborn Christmas Pyramid: A 20-meter delight!
The Christmas season has begun in Paderborn! Since yesterday, Monday, at the latest, when the impressive Christmas pyramid was erected on the market square, you can see the festive preparations everywhere. This 20 meter high pyramid made of real wood is actually one of the largest walk-in pyramids of its kind and consists of six levels. The roof terrace on the first floor offers space for up to 150 people, who can enjoy a wonderful view of the Christmas market and Paderborn Cathedral from here. Every time the lights come on, you feel like you're in the magic of Christmas.
The city of Paderborn has a lot in store for the upcoming Christmas market. Around 80 stands will treat visitors to delicacies and handmade products from November 23rd to December 23rd, 2025. The selection ranges from Christmas decorations to toys and handicrafts. Gifts made of wood, wool and leather are particularly popular, and for those with a sweet tooth there are cookie cutters and the popular Bunzlau ceramics.
Market opening times and special events
The Christmas market is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on other days of the week from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Shops have the option of closing at 8 p.m. Particularly noteworthy: The market will be closed on November 23rd because of Dead Sunday. But on November 30th, visitors can expect a shopping Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., where pre-Christmas shopping can really unfold.
