Paderborn celebrates: Schützenfest 2025 with parade and fireworks!

For many people, the Paderborn Shooting Festival is a must-attend event in the calendar. This year, the traditional folk festival will take place from July 11th to 14th, 2025 and attracts citizens and visitors with a colorful program. This year the event is once again organized by the Paderborn Citizens' Shooting Club (PBSV), which was founded in 1831 and currently has over 4,600 members.

What exactly can guests expect in Paderborn? As usual, the festival begins on Friday evening with the celebratory Great Tattoo in front of the town hall, where the anticipation for the coming days is clearly noticeable. The club's internal Kommers will take place on Saturday, while the traditional shooting fair in the cathedral is on the program on Sunday. In addition to the fair, there will also be the popular prince shooting and a large parade in honor of the “old” royal couple.

Program highlights and transport connections

The parade moves from 12:15 p.m. on Sunday from Domplatz to Schützenplatz, where the riflemen continue the celebrations. On Monday you can look forward to the royal shooting and the parade in honor of the “new” court. As the crowning finale, both locals and guests can expect a musical fireworks display that lights up the sky over Paderborn at 10:30 p.m.

If you arrive by car, you can use the coordinates “Fürstenweg 36, 33102 Paderborn”. The city bus lines 9 and 14 will take you comfortably to the “Freibad/Schützenplatz” stop. However, you should keep an eye on the parking situation, as it can get quite crowded around the main events.

Entrance fees and culinary offers

The admission prices are family-friendly. A season ticket costs 8 euros (5 euros in advance), while a day ticket costs 5 euros. When it comes to drinks, the beer price is 2 euros for a 0.2 liter glass. For members, the beer is even available in advance for 1.80 euros. The food prices are in the usual fair range and offer something for every taste!

With a number of visitors between 15,000 and 20,000 annually, the Paderborn Schützenfest has established itself as a real folk festival. Not only can the traditional elements of shooting be experienced here, but the city's community can also become visible. An unforgettable experience that upholds both old and new traditions.

Further information about the Schützenfest can be found on the pages of the PBSV pbs.de and the city of Paderborn paderborn.de. Be there when it says: “Let’s celebrate!” and experience unforgettable moments in Paderborn!
