Young people from Unna conquer the Netherlands: summer leisure adventure!
In the next few days, 21 young people from Holzwickede, Bönen and Fröndenberg will be sailing to Eastermar in the Netherlands for their summer vacation. This exciting trip, which was organized by the Family and Youth Department of the Unna district, will take place from July 11th to 21st, 2025 and offers the participating children and young people aged 10 to 17 lots of fun and adventure.
Accommodation is in a lovingly redesigned group house, the “Old Barn”, at the picturesque harbor in Eastermar. Here, participants can stay in 3- to 4-person rooms and look forward to numerous leisure activities. These include table football, table tennis, air hockey, and a large lawn equipped with a volleyball net, a basketball hoop and a giant trampoline. A soccer goal is also a must to fulfill the group's sporting ambitions. There are even planned bike tours to idyllic freshwater lakes with bathing bays, which offer a welcome change.
Activities and experiences
The daily program includes popular activities such as morning yoga exercises and jogging sessions to keep participants fit. Several group excursions are also on offer, including to the North Sea coast, the IJsselmeer and the historic city of Leeuwarden with its sights and the popular aqua zoo. The bike tours through the North Frisian lake landscape and along the sandy beaches “Burgumer Mar” and “De Leien” promise unforgettable experiences and plenty of room for adventure.
Particularly hard-working cyclists have already logged over 350 kilometers on their bike speedometers - this proves that young people have a good knack for cycling. And for the creative souls among you, there is a range of DIY activities available, such as making friendship bracelets, tie-dyeing and painting T-shirts and making picture frames. There is something for everyone here!
Prices and registrations
A great plus point for parents is the travel price of 470 euros, which also includes full board and entrance fees for the planned excursions. There is even a reduced price of 420 euros for siblings from families from the region. In addition, the possibility of participating in social and cultural activities (SOKU) is taken into account upon request in order to enable everyone to participate.
Registration is now possible, although places can fill up quickly. Anyone interested should hurry up! Registrations must be submitted in writing in addition to Tremaze's usual procedures. Another outlook: An exciting next trip to the Harz Mountains during the first week of the Easter holidays in 2026 and a summer trip to Istria in Croatia are already being advertised. We can only hope that many kids and young people will come together for these trips and have unforgettable experiences!
