Christmas magic in Warendorf: cookies, music and variety!
In the charming town of Warendorf in North Rhine-Westphalia, December 7th, 2025 will be a day full of festive activities. Today the popular “Warendorf Christmas Cookies” event is taking place, which has been an integral part of local culture since 2013. This big event is organized by the cultural department for West Prussia, Poznań and Central Poland, the Horstmann family as well as Kloster Warendorf GmbH and Manfred Kronenberg from Galerie Kronenberg. This community is brimming with ideas and enthusiasm to offer visitors an unforgettable experience.
The colorful program starts at 2 p.m. and ends around 6 p.m. The old town of Warendorf, around the West Prussian State Museum, is transformed into a Christmas wonderland. Visitors of all ages get their money's worth here. Not only are culinary delicacies on offer, but also musical performances by the School of Music in the Warendorf district in the festively decorated monastery church. There is a craft corner for the little guests where they can get creative. The atmosphere is completed by the handmade crafts in the cloister of the museum. There is also a little warmth in the museum's lecture hall, where delicious café and cake specialties await you.
A very special Santa Claus
Talk about festive! On the same day, the Christmas market, affectionately known as the “Warendorf Christmas Forest”, will also have a special attraction. At 5 p.m., Santa Claus himself will come by in a carriage to delight the children. If you like it classic, you can look forward to the Punch and Judy shows at 3 and 4 p.m. - entertainment for the whole family!
The Christmas market is open daily from November 28th to December 14th, 2025 and offers craft stalls and a wide range of gastronomic offerings. Visitors can look forward to a festive atmosphere with fir trees, seating and an open fire for baking bread. This creates a festive atmosphere while you have fun with mulled wine and children's punch.
Activities for young and old
A varied program is offered for the youngest: from baking bread to handicrafts to reading lessons, everything a child's heart desires. The regular craft demonstrations and storytelling benches bring the market to life and contribute to the festive atmosphere.
The Christmas market is open to visitors every day from 11:30 a.m., and from 3 p.m. guests can enjoy the creative stalls and food until late in the evening. Particularly on Advent weekends, celebrations last until 10 p.m. On December 7th, a shopping Sunday will also be organized in the city center, where the shops will have an additional offer.
There are good connections for everyone traveling from further afield. Both the train (Eurobahn line RB67) and buses are options for getting to Warendorf. There are enough parking spaces nearby at Lohwall. For those who would like to visit the smaller Christmas markets in the Freckenhorst and Hoetmar districts, there are also many romantic options to sweeten the pre-Christmas season.
In summary, December 7th in Warendorf is a very special event. Whether strolling through the old town, enjoying delicacies or discovering handmade works of art - the magic of Christmas can be felt everywhere. So if you don't have any plans yet, you now know where you can warm your heart! You can find further information and the entire program on the websites der Spoekenkieker and WN.
