Pastor Horst Nold retired after 35 years: a farewell full of memories

Pastor Horst Nold, a familiar face in the parish of Eudorf and Elbenrod, retires after almost 35 years. The 65-year-old, who was born in Leeheim in Ried in Hesse, has devoted his time to community work during the past few years with great commitment and dedication. On March 2nd at 2 p.m., he will be officially adopted by Pröptin Anke Spory in the church in Eudorf, which has already mobilized many community members and friends of the family to say goodbye.

nold, who maintains close ties to his homeland as "Rieder", completed his community service in a nursing home in Groß-Gerau after graduating from high school in 1980. He then studied his vicariate in Gießen in Frankfurt and went through before graduating from the University of Marburg. Over the decades, he not only formed the souls of his parishioners, but also actively helped with the pastoral care of the old people's home, with which he offered consolation and society.

a life for the community

With his wife Heidemarie Lenffer-Nold, who is also a pastor, Nold ventured to Eudorf 35 years ago and settled there. The couple, who is on duty together, decided to work in half places to make room for other pastors. During this time, their two sons grew up in the village community and learned of small and great joys of everyday life.

recently, his last service took place in the Stephanus house. Over 50 people came together to honor Nold. This service was accompanied by the Alsfeld trombone choir and young musicians from the Alsfeld music school, which was an emotional and significant appreciation for everyone involved. Well -known Christmas carols such as "O Tannenbaum" and "Daughter Zion" as well as Christmas stories provided a festive atmosphere.

a new phase of life

his sermons always kept Nold without manuscript to strengthen direct contact with his listeners. This lively way of preaching is a sign of his conviction that relationships with the parishioners were the heart of his work. The experiences he gained during the Corona period have shaped him. In October, the Nold couple left the rectory and moved to their own house in Eudorf to start a new phase of life.

For the future, Nold is still planning to head for wedding ceremonies and funerals in its communities. The reception after his last service is organized by the church council of Eudorf and Elbenrod in the DGH Eudorf, where the community will come together to appreciate his work and to thank him for his tireless service.

With his retreat from the active service, Nold begins a new phase of life, which is enriched by supporting its fellow human beings. It will continue to be present as part of the community and will maintain the relationships that have grown over the years. Another important step for Nold is the opportunity to support in a guest service in the community, which allows him to remain active in retirement.

The farewell of Pastor Horst Nold on March 2 is not only a personal milestone, but also a social change for the community, which has to adapt to the new reality according to his era. Osthessen-News reports that this will not only be known for Nold, but for all those who have met and appreciated it over the years. Oberhessen-Live emphasizes that Nolds remains unforgettable.
