Politics and cookies: Jochen Lintzen reveals his recipe for the election!
The local elections are just around the corner in Heinsberg, and candidates from various parties are presenting their ideas and concepts. A cheerful highlight is Jochen Lintzen, who is... SPD direct candidate is running for city council in constituency 6. The 52-year-old, who lives in Oberbruch with his partner Carina and his two daughters, Jana and Ria, not only brings political experience, but also culinary skills.
Lintzen, a trained electrician and department head in building management at the Workers' Welfare Association, published a recipe for a pear cake with nut crumbles in a brochure for his party. This brochure entitled “Vote!” not only presents his cake, but also other favorite recipes of the Heinsberg SPD candidates. “Where good ideas meet taste” and “We have better recipes” are the catchy slogans that get to the heart of the exciting mix of politics and cooking. In addition to the pear cake, you can also find more elaborate dishes such as Rhenish sauerbraten and cheese spaetzle with salmon and shrimp.
Culinary insights and political ambitions
Jochen Lintzen has been a member of the Heinsberg City Council since 2009 and has been involved in numerous committees. His political focus includes the construction and energy environment, sport as well as finance and auditing. His passion for carnival is reflected not only in his role as former president of the carnival society “Droemmer Hahne” from 2005 to 2019, but also in his dinner vision for the city.
“I particularly like simple dishes like fried potatoes with fried eggs,” says Lintzen, who also enjoys working in the kitchen himself. The recipe for the pear cake was chosen in consultation with his family in order to be uncomplicated for all amateur bakers. This made it so popular that his daughter's trainer baked it and was thrilled.
Competition for the electorate
While Lintzen is running for the SPD, they are also getting mixed up left into the political events in Heinsberg. This is committed in a variety of ways and has nominated some strong candidates for the upcoming elections. Among them is Manuel Staeck, an experienced party spokesman who advocates for fair education policies and affordable rents. The Left is also planning an intensive election campaign with information stands and door-to-door campaigning to bring their goals closer.
In the run-up to the elections on September 14th, it will be exciting to see how the political landscape and the different concepts of the parties will continue to develop. One thing is certain: voters in Heinsberg are spoiled for choice. It remains to be seen whether Jochen Lintzen's pear cake or the Left's social plans will be better received in the end.
