Prize winner Clara von Nathusius: Civil courage against anti -Semitism!

Berlin, Deutschland - nag/nag editors -

What happens if his own great -grandfather was involved in an assassination attempt against Hitler and paid for it with life? Clara von Nathusius, 28, knows only too well. On Tuesday evening she will be awarded the "Prize for Civil Courage and against Anti -Semitism, right -wing radicalism and racism" in the Berlin Hotel Adlon. The reason: their tireless efforts for the rights of Jewish students and students in Germany, especially after the devastating attack by Hamas on Israel on October 7, 2023.

The co -founder of "Fridays for Israel" has set itself the goal of drawing attention to the worrying Situation of Jewish people. In a café in Berlin-Mitte, she tells of her life and inheritance of her great-grandfather, Ulrich Wilhelm Graf Schwerin von Schwanenfeld, who was executed in 1944. "He acted out of deep faith and ethical motivation," she explains. Clara himself completed a voluntary social year in Peru and studies business administration in Munich and Berlin. Despite her discipline and daily jogging routine, she also sees herself faced with hostility, which she does not stop.

Fridays for Israel and the fight against anti -Semitism

Clara von Nathusius is determined to fight the discrimination against Jews in Germany. "There is no 'yes, but'," she emphasizes. She criticizes that Jewish life in Germany cannot be lived carefree and that Jewish institutions have to be under police protection more than ever after October 7, 2023. She demands that society have to defend itself against this reality. Her initiative "Fridays for Israel" is non -partisan and is committed to Israel's right to exist, while at the same time pointing out the everyday challenges that Jewish people are confronted with.

The fears are real: a friend of Clara hesitates to bring her child to the Jewish kindergarten, for fear that it will be identified by a Hebrew children's song. In one of her rallies, a Jewish speaker wore baseball cap and sunglasses for security reasons so as not to be recognized. Clara from Nathusius sees it as her duty to make these topics public and to strengthen the voices of those affected - and that without striving for fame or prices.
