A customer of Rewe made a shocking discovery on his receipt when he was invoiced a whopping 15 euros for an unspecified post-a prepaid cell phone card of O2. The incident that was publicly public via the Reddit platform shows how quickly such misfortunes can happen when shopping. The affected customer perceives the situation as a fraud, because on the cash register screen, which was not geared towards him, but to the cashier, he could not see the error. The discussion as to whether it is an oversight or a conscious deception has flared up lively in the comments, whereby some users suspect that such a large supermarket chain as Rewe would never deliberately cheat, while others encourage customers to personally clarify the incident in the branch. REWE introduces a new bonus program

At the same time, Rewe announced a significant change in his loyalty program: the cooperation with Payback has ended. From January 1, 2025, customers can no longer collect payback points, but Rewe has now started his own bonus program called Rewe Bonus. According to T3N, customers benefit from a structured enrichment of credit through the purchase of selected products. A smiley already indicates the product image whether a bonus credit can be collected. For example, the customer receives 0.30 euros for a fabric softener for 1.89 euros to his bonus account.

The new system also offers additional advantages such as bonus coupons and a discount boost that will be active at minimal monthly expenses of 50 euros at REWE.
