Ice top chaos on the A 61: Several accidents in frostful weather!

On the morning of February 17, 2025, there were several traffic accidents on the A 61 towards Ludwigshafen, triggered by falling ice sheets from trucks. At 7:30 a.m., a 27-year-old driver was victim to the victim of such an incident when an ice sheet broke the windshield of his vehicle and caused light sheet metal damage on the roof. Almost simultaneously, a 48-year-old truck driver reported that an ice sheet damaged its exterior mirror after falling from a truck at the Menhir parking lot.

The third incident occurred around 9:50 a.m. when an ice sheet has seriously damaged the car of a 45-year-old in Bermersheim, which resulted in damage of around 1,500 euros. In all cases, administrative offenses were initiated against truck drivers because they apparently did not control the ice sheets. The police warn all road users, especially with the current night frosts, to keep a secure distance from trucks.
