Shocking traffic controls: frenzy and alcohol at the wheel!

During the traffic safety week of the Schifferstadt police inspection from March 24 to 30, 2025, extensive checks were carried out. 5-6 civil servants were deployed every day, supported by forces from the police headquarters. Especially on Neustadter Straße in Mutterstadt, it was hailing for overruns: 22 drivers were punished, including a racer that was flashed at 99 km/h instead of the permitted 70 km/h. 24 violations were registered on the K13 in Altrip, the fastest 104 km/h. These pace sinners must expect fines of 150 euros and possible driving bans.

In addition, the officers found alcohol and drug influences with several controls. A scooter driver had a breath alcohol value of terrifying 2.00 per thousand. Three other drivers were opened for drunkenness in traffic. Vehicle controls were also successful: in over 50% of the cases, important documents and equipment were missing. The inspectors left protocols and deadlines for subsequent admission. The measures were taken up positively by the population, which encourages the police for further controls. Security on the streets remains the top priority!
