Summer festival in Wörrstadt: Discover the new WohnGut Alte Schmiede!

Something is happening in Wörrstadt: The association “Wohnprojekt in Rheinhessen” (W.i.R.) invites you to a summer party on Saturday, July 5th at 2 p.m. in the courtyard of the future “WohnGut Alte Schmiede” at Pariser Straße 92. Anyone interested in finding out more about the innovative residential project can look forward to an exciting program that begins with the presentation of the project at 2 p.m. From 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. there are guided tours where visitors can get to know the idea and structure of the WohnGut in more detail. Of course, food lovers don't miss out either - cakes, coffee, cocoa and grilled dishes await guests. So if you're looking for a place that combines community and affordable housing, you shouldn't miss this event. According to the information from [Allgemeine Zeitung](https://www. Allgemeine-zeitung.de/lokales/kreis-alzey-worms/verbandsgemeinde-woerrstadt/woerrstadt/wohnprojekt-kennenlernen-4741859) everyone is warmly invited!

What is actually behind WohnGut Alte Schmiede? The vision of this project is to create not just a roof over your head, but a vibrant community in which togetherness and mutual support are valued. The buildings should have low energy consumption in order to protect the environment and keep additional costs low for the residents. A sustainable living concept that faces the challenges of climate change and focuses on renewable energies - as much as possible should be generated and used yourself.

Shared mobility and farm community

Another exciting aspect is the planned shared (e-)vehicle fleet, which is to be used efficiently to save parking spaces. Smart move considering how important sustainable mobility is. This also includes the use of bicycles, buses and trains – and of course the good old feet! For those who like to work in the garden, there are also areas for growing vegetables and fruits. Not only is harvesting done here, but space is also created for play, relaxation and perhaps even for keeping pets. Exchanges with neighbors are also encouraged, with interested hobby groups being included in the activities and events.

The project is part of the trend towards sustainable communities that focus on resource-saving lifestyles. On June 4th, OEKOGENO eG is hosting an online themed evening that provides an insight into wind energy projects. Interested citizens can find out more about sustainable investments in wind power here. A step towards a greener future!

The invitation to the summer festival impressively shows that innovative housing projects are sustainable and can strengthen the community. If you would like to find out more about WohnGut Alte Schmiede, you can find information about the association and the project on the website wohngut-alte-schmiede.de or the Facebook page. It's definitely worth a visit!
