Shocking frontal collision at Lug: Two injuries after the accident!

Lug, Deutschland - On February 11, 2025, around 11:30 a.m. on the K 91, shortly before Lug, a dramatic frontal collision between two vehicles occurred. An 82-year-old driver from the Südliche Weinstrasse district apparently lost control of her Fiat due to a weakness and unhappily steered on the opposite lane, where she collided with an oncoming Ford. A couple from the Southwest Palatinate district sat in the Ford. The violent impact hurled the couple's vehicle into the adjacent Rimbach.

The consequences of the accident were serious: the 82-year-old person who caused the accident and the 67-year-old passenger of the Ford suffered serious injuries. The woman was flown to the hospital with a rescue helicopter. Her 65-year-old husband complained of minor injuries and was transported with an ambulance together with his wife. Fortunately, no operating materials came to the Rimbach, but as a precaution, an oil lock was set up by the Annweiler fire brigade. The property damage is estimated at least 30,000 euros, and the K 91 had to be closed for several hours to recover the vehicles and clean the road.
