Traffic accident on B 258: Two injuries for turning maneuvers!

On Saturday, May 17th, 2025, at 12:45 p.m., there was a dangerous traffic accident on the B 258 between the Mayen-Süd and Mayen-West junction. A 58-year-old driver from Saarland, apparently out of alien, tried to turn his car in a two-lane area. He crashed into the vehicle of a 25-year-old driver from the Vorderifel community, who was also traveling towards Nürburgring. Fortunately, both drivers remained only slightly injured.

The vehicles were significantly damaged in the impact and were no longer ready to drive. Local towing services took care of the salvage. Criminal proceedings were initiated against the older driver due to the risk to road traffic. After consulting the Koblenz public prosecutor, the driver's license was also secured. The emergency services, the Mayen fire brigade and the road maintenance department were also on site.
