On Thursday, May 15, 2025, a curious incident occurred on the B9 near Ludwigshafen: A 75-year-old driver of a Mercedes-Benz C-Class changed too late and crashed into construction site pylons. Despite the considerable damage to her vehicle, which is estimated at around 5,000 euros, the senior citizen continued her journey.

An attentive 35-year-old road user observed the incident, followed the woman and informed the police. The officers placed the driver in a parking lot in Speyer-Nord. During the check, they noticed that the woman had suffered superficial injuries in the area of ​​the chin through the splintered windshield. She was prohibited from continuing and criminal proceedings were initiated by the accident site for unauthorized removal. The driver's license office was also informed.
