Balcon power plants in Bad Dürkheim: High demand despite the grant!
In Bad Dürkheim, the demand for plug -in solar systems, better known as the balcony power plants, has literally gone through the ceiling in the past few months. This is not only evident from the number of applications that the city administration has processed, but also in the reaction to the funding program, which makes tenants and owners within reach. Rhine Palatinate reports that 107 applications have already been approved. This shows impressively how important climate protection is for the local people.
However, there are also challenges: the funding, originally endowed with 20,000 euros, was reduced to just 4,000 euros, so that only 20 other plants can be funded. Tenants as well as owners who seriously think about getting such a solar system should hurry up, because the funds are limited.
Details of funding
In addition to the simple approval, the amount of funding was increased: Instead of 125 euros, there are now 200 euros for buying a plug solar system. Bad Dürkheim explains that the funding is financed from the municipal investment program for climate protection and innovation (KIPKI). To receive funding, some documentation must be provided, including proof of installation and proof of purchase.
The funding conditions have been continuously adjusted in recent months. Since April 2023, not only owners, but also tenants, can apply for funding. An important point: Tenants have to make sure that the systems are purchased and installed according to May 15, 2024 in order to be eligible.
National perspective and support
In a larger context, it is interesting to mention that funding programs for balcony power plants also exist in other federal states. In Berlin, for example, up to 250 euros per system can be funded for rental apartments. Finance tip Informed that households with low incomes can receive up to 90 % of the acquisition costs for funding in Hamburg. This shows that the efforts to expand renewable energies are a nationwide issue.
Overall, the development in Bad Dürkheim is a positive sign for climate and environmental protection. It remains exciting to see how many people in the city still take the opportunity to benefit from this funding and thus actively contribute to the energy transition.
