Dürkheim shooters celebrate success: Young talents in the spotlight!
On November 4th, 2025, the members of the shooting society gathered at the shooting range in Retzerwald for a very special occasion: the honoring of long-standing members was coming up. The deserving shooters were rewarded with certificates and medals for their loyalty to the club. The event particularly focused on the successful achievements of recent years, and the club's youth and female representation was duly acknowledged. This shows a positive trend that is clearly good for the club.
Last year there were an impressive 500 starts that went up to national level. The club can look back on a successful time: a total of 32 national championships and 40 runner-up championships were won. A particularly outstanding moment: Steven Eichert set a new record in double trap and hit 99 of 125 targets. At the German Championships, the Dürkheim shooters won five titles and were able to achieve four runner-up positions.
The masters and their successes
The German champions include Frank Ziehl with two titles, Thomas Sillmann, Frank Coltan-Wagner and Sabine Emmer. Nadine Domanska and again Frank Ziehl and Frank Coltan-Wagner took second place. Youth leader Michael Lorek highlighted the remarkable successes in the women's and youth divisions. Linnéa Schreiber and Anna-Üde Bruns took first place, while Emilia Reich took third place and Michelle Hauck took fourth place. Here we see concentrated young talent at work!
A special part of the honor went to the long-standing members of the club. Klaus Beckmann and Ludwig Oppermann were honored for 40 years of membership. Günter Brodbeck, Heinz-Jürgen Lemmerz, Norbert Veth and Guido Hofmeister were honored with 50 years at the club. But the absolute highlight: Benno Sauer and Armin Eberle have been there for 70 years, which was also duly recognized in the shooting society.
New monarchs in the club
The event also gave reason to be happy about the new elections for the club's monarchs. Linnéa Schreiber was crowned the new youth rifle queen, while Anna-Üde Bruns was the first lady-in-waiting and Emilia Reich was the second lady-in-waiting. Norbert Robert successfully defended his title as Archer King and is supported by Marcus Blum as first knight and Reiner Asel as second knight. There's something coming up for the upcoming competitions!
With these successes and the promotion of young talent, the shooting society in Bad Dürkheim is setting an example. It remains exciting to see how the past will affect the future of the club. In any case: a good knack for working with young talent makes a splash here!
