Volunteer exchange in Wachenheim: Bridge between helpers and those in need!
An exciting initiative is being created in Wachenheim that has the potential to bring the community together and make everyday life easier for many. The newly founded volunteer exchange is offered as a platform on the Internet to easily connect people who are willing to help and those who need help. VG representative René Breier, a member of the SPD, has already established contacts between those in need and volunteers. The aim is to offer support in everyday life, be it shopping or shared activities such as a cozy coffee chat.
With the volunteer exchange, the Verbandsgemeinde of Wachenheim not only wants to support individuals, but also offer clubs a platform to exchange experiences and resources. A central concern is recruiting members and finding financing options. All information about this commitment can be found on the homepage of the association's website. In addition, a digital pin board is planned, which is expected to go online in mid-September.
Digitalization as the key
Another exciting aspect of the volunteer exchange is the examination of digital tools to make volunteer activities more visible. The “100xDigital” project in particular could play a major role here. This support program helps organizations prepare for digital change and address their individual needs. You can apply for up to €24,000 for the implementation of digital projects in order to modernize processes and develop new digital skills. This support is supplemented by the exchange in the so-called 100xDigital community, which enables a broad horizon of experience.
The state government of Rhineland-Palatinate also recognizes the importance of volunteering and has launched various initiatives to strengthen commitment in the region. The homepage wir-do-was.rlp.de is a central point of contact to find out about current developments and offers. Reference is also made here to the “Volunteering 4.0” ideas competition, which deals with the use of digital tools and aims to promote further innovative approaches.
Personal support remains important
In order to successfully implement the volunteer exchange, René Breier remains available as a personal contact for marginalized and less internet-savvy people. This shows that despite digitalization, the human component is not pushed into the background. It is essential to build bridges so that everyone has the opportunity to benefit from this initiative.
Under the motto “Strong together”, the Wachenheim community hopes for active participation and numerous committed citizens who will contribute their time and skills to participation in the community. The volunteer exchange has the potential to not only bring helpers and those seeking help together, but also to strengthen the community and promote cooperation. Further information about the volunteer exchange can be found on the website Wachenheim Association to find.
