Leistadt Kerwe 2025: Five days full of fun and music for everyone!
The anticipation for the Leistadt Kerwe is great, because from Friday, July 4th to Tuesday, July 8th, the Leistadt district will be transformed into a colorful festival area. Under the motto “Leistadt is colorful”, visitors can expect a varied program for young and old. The Kerwe is one of the most popular German festivals and brings the village community together to celebrate together. As the Rhine Palatinate reported, the children's and youth kerwe starts on Friday at 3 p.m.
The official opening of the Kerwe takes place at 6.30 p.m. on Kurt-Dehn-Platz. Another highlight is the live broadcast of the European Championship quarter-final between Germany and Spain, followed by an evening with the band “Rubber Biskuit”, which plays a Blues Brothers tribute show. Saturday offers a colorful children's program with lots of opportunities to play from 3 p.m., while in the evening the band Delta Rock delights Kerwe visitors with their sound.
Tradition, fun and community
Sunday begins at 11 a.m. with an ecumenical service in the Schubkarchstand on Kerweplatz. The traditional Kerwe parade follows at 2 p.m., with the motto “Mythical creatures from the Palatinate Forest” taking center stage. Kerwe pastor Elfriede Lang will hold the “Kerweredd”, which attracts many villagers to hear the humorous anecdotes about the community. At the end of the parade, the Ellerstadt choir will provide atmosphere from 5 p.m., while the band “Reezling” will offer a colorful rock-pop mix from 8 p.m.
On Monday, FC Leistadt invites you to a white sausage breakfast at 10:30 a.m., followed by various program items for children and seniors. The evening concert by Stefan Kahne, Jösch & Friends at 7.30 p.m. promises a nice end to the day. There will also be a children's kerwe on Tuesday from 4 p.m., and at 6:30 p.m. the kerwe will finally end with a celebration and live music from “Docs–Rock All Night”. Especially for younger guests, there are eight play stations, including a train, which provide lots of fun and activity.
A festival full of traditions
Kerwe, derived from the medieval word “Kirchweih”, celebrates the good things of the past year and is a highlight in village life. How HelloGraciemo explains, many locals bring time and joy to this festival, which is of great importance to the community. Delicacies such as crepes, bratwursts and of course regional beers are a must.
On all these days, locals and guests are warmly invited to enjoy the togetherness and the special atmosphere of the Leistadt Kerwe. It's an opportunity to maintain old traditions while creating new memories. You can be sure that the colorful backdrop of Leistadt will once again be hustling and bustling.
