Ulrike Folkerts receives the Golden Winemaker Order in Bad Dürkheim!
The actress Ulrike Folkerts will be the next recipient of the renowned Golden Winemaker Order of the city of Bad Dürkheim. This was announced in a solemn ceremony in the Dürkheim City Museum, led by Jeremie Penske, chairman of the “Derkemer Grawler” carnival club. At the same time, the club celebrated the start of its 77th anniversary. Marcel Reif, the current recipient of the order, will award Ulrike Folkerts the order in a ceremonial presentation, and the 64-year-old will thus receive another award in an already remarkable career.
Folkerts, who many Cologne residents know as Commissioner Lena Odenthal from the popular “Tatort”, has played this role since 1989 and thus has the longest term of office of all “Tatort” commissioners. With over 100 film and television productions, she has been actively involved in the German acting scene since 1987. The Kassel native, who grew up in Weimar, has also played at prestigious venues such as the Salzburg Festival and has worked as an author several times. Her autobiography “That Makes Me Strong” gets to the heart of her career and her challenges.
A life for art
After graduating from the Jacob Grimm School in Kassel, she studied theater and musicology for four semesters before completing acting training at the Hanover University of Music and Theater. Soon after graduating in 1986, she began her first engagement at the Staatstheater Oldenburg. Her dedication to acting is reflected not only in her choice of roles, but also in her commitment to social projects. Folkerts is passionate about the rights of people with Down syndrome and the support of disadvantaged children and young people.
Ulrike Folkerts, who lives in Berlin, is also involved in sports. She won a silver and a bronze medal in swimming at the 2002 Gay Games in Sydney. She is a fixture in the German media landscape and enjoys high recognition not only for her acting achievements, but also for her social commitment.
A look into the future
With a strong professional background and a diverse career, receiving the Golden Winemaker Order will not only be another highlight in Folkert's life, but also a confirmation of her impressive work. Her passion for acting and her numerous social commitments show that she can make a difference not only on the screen but also in real life. The ceremonial presentation of the order is eagerly awaited, and we are excited to see what projects the talented artist will tackle next.
