E-scooter robber in Bernkastel-Kues: drugs, theft and persecution!

In the night of May 13, 2025, around 01:30 a.m., police officers in Bernkastel-Kues attracted attention to an e-scooter who banned two people. During an arranged traffic control, there was a short persecution, after which the two occupants headed for an apartment building and could be placed there.

The officials noticed a strong smell of marijuana during the check. The 23-year-old driver confessed to smoking a joint shortly before the trip. It also turned out that the e-scooter had only been stolen on the banks of the Moselle hours earlier, which the 16-year-old passenger admitted. The driver must now expect an administrative offense procedure for alcohol and drug use, while the young people are held responsible for theft.
