Retirement after 42 years: chief police commissioner Schmitt said goodbye

On December 19, 2024, police chief Stefan Schmitt was officially retired by police president Anja Rakowski. After 42 years in the police service, a successful career was ended, which began in 1982 with the start of Federal Border Guard.

In 1994 Schmitt joined the Mainz police inspection (former police inspection Mainz 1). Eight years later, in 2002, he moved to the Wittlich police inspection in the Trier police headquarters, where he worked for 19 years. In 2021 he finally started service at the Bernkastel-Kues police inspection as a clerk in the criminal and district service.

a life for the police

During the farewell ceremony, Anja Rakowski expressed her best wishes for Schmitt's new phase of life. His commitment and many years of experience in the police service will be estimated in the Bernkastel-Kues police inspection.

The celebrations for farewell were very well received, as both colleagues and superiors recognize Smitts and wished him good luck for the future.
