L55, 54516 Wittlich, Deutschland - On May 15, 2025, there was a serious traffic accident on the L55 between Wittlich and Bombogen. Around 2:50 p.m., the driver lost control of her vehicle and crashed head -on against a tree on the side of the road with full force. The collision was violent and left two people seriously injured.

quickly moved up emergency services - two ambulances and a rescue helicopter were used to bring the victims to nearby hospitals. The Wittlich police inspection and the Wittlich fire brigade were also on site with numerous emergency services. During the rescue and salvage work, the road had to be completely closed at times. The exact causes of the accident are still unclear and are now being examined.
