The Fuchs family looks back on an impressive history of viticulture in Pomerania, which extends over at least 400 years. For eleven generations, the family has been devoting itself to the cultivation of wine on the Moselle. Historically, viticulture in this region was introduced by the Romans around 2000 years ago, which underpins the long tradition of viticulture on the Moselle. The Leo Fuchs winery is not as old as this story, but it has an important role in Pomerania's wine history.

The Fuchs family consists of Alfred, Elisabeth, Barbara, Martin, Johannes and Louisa. She describes herself as a large family with temperament and cheerfulness. The cohesion within the family has a high priority, which ensures harmonious coexistence. Alfred Fuchs took over the winery from his father Johannes in 1982 and has continued it together with his wife Elisabeth under the name Fuchs.
In 2008, the son of Johannes decided to learn the profession of winemaker with the aim of forwarding the family business in the future. This transfer of knowledge and tradition will also be of great importance in the future alignment of the winery, as Weingut-johannes-fuchs.de
