Goldbeck opens new factory in Kirchberg: 250 jobs for the region!
At a time when many companies are struggling with uncertainty, Goldbeck is sending a strong signal for the region. On October 29, 2025, a new precast concrete factory was opened in Kirchberg, Rhineland-Palatinate, which is expected to create up to 250 jobs in the long term. This will involve the creation of around 100 jobs in the first expansion stage, which will be available in both production and administration. Mercury reports that the approximately 20,000 square meter facility will produce a variety of system elements for residential buildings, schools, offices, parking garages and halls.
With this investment sum of over 80 million euros, Goldbeck not only demonstrates a good knack for expansion, but also a commitment to a stable location in Germany. Managing director Jan-Hendrik Goldbeck emphasizes that this countercyclical investment is a sign of trust in the region. “We want to actively support the development of the region,” he emphasizes.
Sustainability and modern technology
Particularly noteworthy is the innovative orientation of the new plant, which, according to Goldbeck, offers a successful interplay of high-tech and craftsmanship. The production in Kirchberg will be equipped, among other things, with a new mixing plant that will enable reduced CO₂ emissions through fully automated control. Goldbeck relies on Goldbeck Blue Concrete, which emits up to 35% less CO2 than conventional materials.
The factory will also be equipped with a photovoltaic system with an output of 1.3 megawatts. This measure is intended to help cover the plant's entire energy needs. The concept also includes a green roof on the administration building, which promotes local biodiversity and helps regulate the building temperature. The planning of the outdoor facilities also takes ecological aspects into account and creates important compensation areas for flora and fauna.
A win for the region
Prime Minister Alexander Schweitzer (SPD) sees the opening of the plant as a decisive step towards strengthening the economy in Rhineland-Palatinate. By investing here, Goldbeck not only supports the local infrastructure, but also further establishes the region as an attractive location for companies. At a time when other companies are having to cut jobs or even close, this is an encouraging development.
Goldbeck, founded in 1969 and now represented in Europe with 13,000 employees, generates sales of around 6.3 billion euros every year. The new factory in Kirchberg should make it possible to produce efficient products such as wall elements that already have integrated windows and turnkey buildings more efficiently. Up to 7,000 living walls can be manufactured per year, which significantly expands the company's capacity and meets the high demands of the market.
The opening of the new factory in Kirchberg is not only a milestone for Goldbeck, but also a positive signal for the entire economic region. It will be exciting to see how the expansion and commitment to technology and sustainability will develop in the coming years.
