A year, the safety of the youth in Koblenz remains a hotly discussed topic! On April 11, 2025, the regulatory office, the police and the youth welfare office carried out sample test purchases in the city, in which underage test buyers, well prepared by the higher vocational school police and administration in Lahnstein, were used. In 21 shops - from kiosks to supermarkets to petrol stations - it was tested whether the sellers comply with the legal provisions of the Youth Protection Act.

The results? Sobering! In 12 out of 21 cases, the youth protection law was violated. Alcohol and tobacco went to the young people via the sales counter - a terrifying sign that many retailers do not take the law seriously. But the regulatory office stays tuned! These unannounced controls are to be continued, because the protection of the children and young people in Koblenz has top priority!
