The project had already been launched before and quickly became very popular. At the premiere a few months ago, which began at the striking “Deutscher Kaiser” building, Ferber even played the “Schürger Madonna”. The participants explored lesser-known historical events, such as a “peephole” in the Church of Our Lady. The Peter Cemetery Chapel was also on the program, where the self-taught musician shared interesting information. This mixture of music and history is attracting more and more groups to the old town who are interested in the “Koblenz sound stories”.

A heart for the community

The city tour begins on November 22nd at 5 p.m. at Kornpfortstrasse/corner of Unterm Stern. Participation is free, but Ferber welcomes donations. All proceeds will go to the “Christmas Eve in Community” initiative, which has been organized every year since 1969 by the Caritas Association and Catholic and Protestant communities. This event is aimed at lonely women and men, single seniors, single parents and people who have to spend Christmas without company. Ferber emphasizes the special atmosphere of the event and shows his commitment to helping those who need it.

In order to take part in the city tour, you are requested to register. Anyone interested can register at ferber.koblenz@gmail.com. Ferber enjoyed great enthusiasm at its premiere, which encouraged him to plan further tours in the future and to guide different groups of guests through Koblenz.

A look outside the box

In other parts of the world, such as the United States, issues surrounding identity, race and gender are essential and heavily influence the political landscape. Political scientist Christopher Sebastian Parker points out that the roots of the current culture wars go back to the 1960s, when marginalized groups fought against the prevailing cultural norms of the time. This shows how social changes always meet with resistance and the pursuit of equality presents both opportunities and challenges, as recent developments in educational discussions show. abcnews.go.com

This makes it clear that culture and community are not only connected locally, but also globally. While a wonderful musical event in Koblenz aims to open hearts, there are extensive debates around the world about identity and justice. The musical tour with Christian Ferber is therefore not just a simple city tour, but also part of a larger cultural dialogue that affects us all - regardless of our location.
