Railway chaos in May: RB26 between Mainz and Koblenz paralyzed!

From May 2, 2025, travelers on the important railway line RB26 between Mainz and Koblenz have to expect significant restrictions. According to information from Stern leads intensive construction on this route to delays, stops and rail replacement, which is introduced in several sections. These measures are necessary to ensure the maintenance and expansion of the infrastructure.

The restrictions last until May 9th and affect the following sections of the route: the section between Mainz Central Station and Mainz-Mombach, between Mainz Hauptbahnhof and Uhlerborn, as well as between Mainz Central Station and Bingen Central Station. The section between Bingen Central Station and Koblenz is also affected in both directions. Travelers are urgently asked to use alternative regional railway and regional express compounds in order to make their journey as smoothly as possible.

The measure leads to changed departure and arrival times, which results in additional delays and timetable deviations. In order to minimize the effects of the construction work, replacement traffic is set up by bus, which is intended to replace compounds offered in the affected sections.
