Early on Wednesday evening, December 3rd, 2025, the Ludwigshafen-Ruchheim police motorway station carried out a major check on the A 61. Comprehensive inspections took place between the Frankenthal and Ludwigshafen motorway intersections, at the “Auf dem Hirschen” parking lot, from 6:00 p.m. to midnight. The aim of this measure was to check the driving ability of vehicle drivers and to ensure the road safety of the vehicles. A significant number of 74 vehicles and 130 people were checked.

Of particular note, however, are offenses under the Narcotics Act. 1.3kg of marijuana was found in one vehicle, while around 300g was seized in another. Collaboration for security
Not only the police motorway station was involved in the check, but also customs, the Neustadt police department as well as central transport services and other support staff. Thanks to this cooperation, an effective review could be carried out. In total, blood samples were taken from 7 road users who were under the influence of intoxicants.
