The fifth season is celebrated vigorously in Neustadt! Next Saturday, November 15th, the four carnival clubs invite you to a glittering carnival parade. After a forced two-year break, the parade is moving through the city center again, and the anticipation is great.
The parade begins at 3:44 p.m. at the Krasemann parking lot and continues to the market square. The celebratory highlight is the handover of the city key to the fools by Mayor Marc Weigel at 4:30 p.m. The streets will become a scene of colorful hustle and bustle, with the music bands once again creating a great atmosphere. From 6.30 p.m. the band “Die Testsieger” entertains the audience on stage until late in the evening, i.e. until 10 p.m.
Carnival clubs in action
The carnival clubs involved are the carnival club 1840 Neustadt (KVN), the carnival club Rot-Weiss Lachen-Speyerdorf (KC), the Diedesfelder Flendes and the Mußbacher Ausles. The latter is particularly proud of its first campaign as an independent club after separating from SG Mußbach. In a close collaboration, the Feucht-Fröhliche Neustadter (FFN) will provide the food, while the Mußbacher Ausles will take over the bar.
Of course, there will also be numerous other events in the coming weeks. Particularly noteworthy is the large senior pageantry session in the hall, which will take place on Sunday, February 8th and is organized by KC, KVN and Flendes Diedesfeld. Advance ticket sales take place through the local administrations and the Neustadt Multi-Generation House.

- KVN: Große Prunksitzung am 7. Februar, Weiberfasnacht am 12. Februar, Fasnacht in der Innenstadt am 14. Februar, Kinderfasching am Rosenmontag, 16. Februar.
- KC: Prunksitzungen am 31. Januar, 7. Februar, 14. Februar, Kinder- und Jugendprunksitzung am 15. Februar.
- Diedesfelder Flendes: Prunksitzungen am 30./31. Januar und 6./7. Februar.
- Mußbacher Ausles: Kappenabende am 7. Februar und 14. Februar.
The 2025/26 carnival season will conclude on Ash Wednesday, February 18th. So until then there will still be a few opportunities to enjoy the joy of carnival to the fullest.
*Rheinpfalz* reports that the response to attempts to make the fifth season more visible was rather modest before the pandemic. But with the upcoming parade, which will brighten the cityscape and the hearts of the participants, new life is coming to the tradition that attracts many Neustadt residents to the streets three times a year.
