Looking forward to the State Garden Show: 3000 events planned in Neustadt!

The anticipation for the upcoming State Garden Show (LGS) in Neustadt is constantly growing. From April 15th to October 17th, 2027, the city will become a center for garden lovers and those interested in culture. An impressive 3,000 events are planned for the event, including a highly anticipated dialect festival where Christian Chako Habekost will enchant the audience. According to the Rheinpfalz, visitors will experience a diverse program that celebrates the beauty and creativity of the region.

Lead organizer Rebecca Siemoneit-Barum and her team have made big plans. The actress, known from the series “Lindenstraße”, brings her 30 years of experience to create an unforgettable cultural program. Her office, located at Lindenstrasse 9-11 in Neustadt, couldn't be more appropriate, as her husband's parents' house is also on Lindenstrasse. Despite her attachment to the address, Siemoneit-Barum remains unimpressed and sees it as original. “There’s something going on,” she says as she and her team tackle the planning challenges.

An extensive event program

Siemoneit-Barum has decided to ensure that no Neustadter goes on vacation during the entire state horticultural show. This shows their ambition and their connection to the region. An important part of the program will be theme weeks that will put Neustadt's twin cities from France, Great Britain, the USA, Turkey, China and Saxony-Anhalt in the spotlight. Wine will also play a central role; Music and cabaret from wine countries such as Argentina and France are firmly planned.

In addition, local artists from the Palatinate will liven up the stages. If you want to enjoy a bit of culture with a glass of wine on the weekends, you can look forward to regular matinees that take place every Saturday and Sunday morning. In order to manage this extensive offering, Siemoneit-Barum is looking for energetic volunteers who would like to look after visitors or give tours of the garden show grounds.

A special location in Neustadt

The garden show site will be built on a recultivated waste mountain northeast of the city center between Rehbach and Speyerbach. This transformation speaks to the meaning and necessity of the state horticultural show to combine nature and art. With such an innovative approach, the LGS promises to be not only a feast for the eyes but also for the soul.
