New tenant in the Schwarzamsel wine bar: A breath of fresh air for Speyer!

A breath of fresh air is coming to the Schwarzamsel wine tavern in Speyer! The new tenant, Florian Kocher, has set himself the goal of refreshing the traditional restaurant in the shadow of the Altpörtel. He is expected to take over the wine bar in February and is already working intensively to present guests with an appealing offering. The trained businessman not only has a business degree with a focus on human resources management, but also valuable experience in the catering industry.

Kocher succeeds the married couple Helga and Gerd Gronau, who previously ran the restaurant. The wine bar has an eventful history and has long been a popular place to go for local residents. It is centrally located at Korngasse 18, just a few steps away from Maximilianstrasse and is therefore easy to visit.

A long tradition

The history of the Weinstube Schwarzamsel goes back more than 235 years. According to the wine bar's website, the first shops there were run by the butcher Heinrich Schmal in 1773. Over the years, many tenants have shaped the restaurant and it has always been at the center of the community culture.

The wine bar is not only known for its diverse selection of wines from selected wineries, but also for the delicious Palatinate cuisine that is offered to guests.

Gastronomy on the rise

Gastronomy as such is an important economic factor in Germany. In the German hospitality industry, most of the sales revenue comes from the catering industry itself. The majority of sales are generated in restaurants, bars and other catering establishments. A new sales record of over 115 billion euros was achieved in 2023. The black blackbird will also provide important impetus as part of this flourishing industry.

A particularly important aspect for the catering industry is adapting to the needs of guests. The trend towards more sustainability and the increasing demand for vegan options are on everyone's lips. Kocher plans to take this development into account and make corresponding offers to its guests.
