The tree planting campaign at a glance
The mirabelle plum tree, which has been known in Germany since the 18th century by its name, among other things, after the city of Nancy, has occupied a tasteful place in German culture. It attracts many gourmets with its sweet fruits, which can be eaten directly and used in baked goods or jams. The flowering period of the mirabelle plum begins in April, while the harvest time is between mid-August and September.
A tree for every community
The distribution of the trees clearly shows how important it is for the district to involve citizens in green projects. The aim is to encourage the general public to take responsibility for nature. A mirabelle plum tree needs optimal location conditions in sunny to partially shaded locations as well as in fresh, permeable and humus-rich soil in order to thrive.
All in all, there are exciting developments both at home and abroad, and the tree planting campaign in the Südwestpfalz district is a remarkable initiative for a greener future.
