Complete closure of the L47: almost two months of construction work on Moselstrasse!
The L47 between Osann-Monzel and Maring-Noviand will be completely closed for almost two months from Monday, June 2, 2025. The reason for this is extensive roadway renovations, as announced by the Trier State Office for Mobility (LBM). The measure is intended to ensure that the road can withstand long-term traffic loads.
The renovation is divided into two construction phases. In the first section, an 1,800 meter long section between Monzel and Noviand, at the level of the gas station, will be efficiently worked on. This involves removing up to 10 cm of the top layer of asphalt. New binder and surface layers are then installed and the entire asphalt structure is renewed in relevant areas, including frost protection and gravel layers.
Details about the construction phases
The first construction phase will last until June 27, 2025. This is followed by the second construction phase, which begins on July 1, 2025. This includes the renovation of the L53/L47 intersection in the direction of the Osann industrial area over a distance of around 300 meters. Here the entire asphalt structure is being replaced and the base is being strengthened. The work in the second phase is scheduled to be completed by the end of July 2025.
The diversion for the first construction phase takes place via the L53, B50 (Platten), Zeltingen, B53 (Bernkastel), Mülheim back to the L47. In the second construction phase, the route will be diverted via Salmtal, A1 (Wittlich junction in the direction of Wittlich-West), B50neu, Bernkastel-Kues junction and L53 and L47 near Mülheim. All diversion routes are clearly signposted so that road users are not misled.
Traffic and diversions
The total costs of these measures amount to around 940,000 euros and are financed by the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The work is carried out by the company Franz Lehnen GmbH & Co. KG from Sehlem. The aim of this renovation work is to bring the road up to modern standards so that it can cope with the traffic loads to come. As bmv.de also emphasizes, it is crucial that such measures are carefully considered and systematically implemented in order to sustainably improve the transport infrastructure in Germany.
