July 2, 2025 was the big day for the graduates of the Zweibrücken vocational school (BBS). A total of 431 degrees were awarded at ceremonies on Tuesday and Wednesday. It wasn't just the certificates that took place across the stage, but also a number of emotional moments and proud faces. The event was a highlight for the young adults who are now tackling their next challenge.

Among the graduates, 38 students received a certificate of professional readiness. There were also 16 certificates for language training and 100 certificates for basic vocational training. The advanced qualifications were also well represented: 20 achieved secondary school leaving certificate, while 84 held a technical college entrance qualification certificate in their hands. Particularly noteworthy: 81 of these graduates were also able to shine with a certificate as state-certified assistants.

Variety of degrees and training

The range of degrees on offer was impressive. 26 students obtained their Abitur at the vocational high school, while 7 received their technical college entrance qualification at the vocational high school. At vocational secondary school 2 (BOS2), 8 graduated with a general university entrance qualification certificate, two even with a subject-specific university entrance qualification certificate.

Of course, there were also many who were successfully trained to become skilled workers. 68 completed their vocational training, including 11 as state-certified nursing specialists and 43 as geriatric nursing assistants. Saarbrücken newspaper emphasizes that this diversity in the vocational training sector is particularly important in order to meet the current requirements on the labor market.

The importance of such graduation ceremonies can also be underlined by developments in the education system. The Federal Institute for Vocational Training (BIBB) closely monitors the dynamics on the training market and publishes the most important statistics annually in order to promote transparency in vocational training.
