From Monday, July 21, 2025, the Saarland police will start a series of speed checks that will last until Sunday, July 27, 2025. The aim of these measures is to increase road safety and avoid accidents by adjusting driving speeds. In particular, at accident scenes where dangerous situations have repeatedly occurred in the past, checks are carried out in order to observe the traffic behavior of drivers. This report was published by the Saarland State Police Directorate on July 14, 2025 and has already attracted a lot of attention reported.
What can road users expect during this week? The checks take place on different days on specific routes. The start on Monday is the B 269 between Dillingen and Tholey and the BAB 8 between the Rhineland-Palatinate state border and the Neunkirchen-Oberstadt junction. The L 101 between Peppenkum and the border with France is also being checked. On Tuesday, the officers will continue their checks on the BAB 8, the L 127 and the B 51 explained.
