Road safety in Saarland

The need for action is clear, because Saarland ranks high in traffic offenses compared to the rest of the country. According to statistics from the Saarbrücker Zeitung, 5.55 crimes were recorded per 1,000 registered drivers. This is the second highest value in Germany. Speeding is also above the national average at 68.08 cases per 1,000 drivers.

Traffic offenses are real problem children in Saarland. In addition to speeding, driving without a license and alcohol violations are also common crimes. The latter is even the highest value nationwide, which particularly alarms the state authorities. These statistics show that there is definitely a reason to be more aware of speed checks and to take them seriously.

Citizens are therefore called upon to adhere to the applicable speed limits and to drive responsibly. Only then can we work together to ensure greater safety on the roads so that accidents can be avoided as much as possible.
