Serious truck accident on A14: lane blocked, 125,000 euros damage!

A14, 23966 Wismar, Deutschland - on May 12, 2025, at 4:43 p.m., on the A14 towards Wismar shortly before the “Plater Berg” parking lot, a dramatic traffic accident with a truck that transported a tanner winner. The 46-year-old driver, a German, lost control of his tractor-trailer, which initially got on the side strip. In the attempt to counteract the trailer, the trailer tore from the tractor and crashed into the middle protection plank, which was pushed over a length of at least 10 meters. The trailer finally tipped onto the right side of the vehicle and stayed on the left lane, while the tractor 200 meters continued on the right lane.

Although the driver was unharmed, enormous property damage of around 125,000 euros was caused. Small quantities of the 24 tons of loaded palm oil escaped on the road, which were bound by the alarmed fire departments. The Autobahnmeisterei Fahrbelde checked the damage while the clearance work at the scene of the accident is underway. The A14 is currently completely blocked from the Schwerin motorway junction towards Wismar.
