on Friday morning, February 28, 2025, the quiet small town of Lauf was shaken by a huge bang. At around 4.25 a.m., at least four unknown perpetrators blew up an ATM from Raiffeisen Spar- und KreditBank eG, which was in an extension to a Rewe supermarket on Röthenbacher Strasse 21. The explosion caused considerable property damage, which is estimated on a five -digit amount. Not only the ATM was destroyed, but also some slices of the bank house broke through the force of detonation. The explosion tore from sleep and led to an immediate search, which included the use of a helicopter, among other things. However, the perpetrators stayed on the run for the time being.

The fleeting perpetrators left the crime scene with a dark sedan via the B14 towards A9 motorway. It is currently unclear whether they were successful and prey on their plan. The TAG24 reports that the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office (BlKA) has taken over the investigation. The examinations for explosive technology used are carried out in the Criminal Corporation Institute (KTI) in Munich.
