BAB 2, 33415 Oelde, Deutschland - on April 26, 2025, around 4:10 p.m., two serious traffic accidents occurred on the BAB 2 between Oelde and Herzebrock-Clarholz. A 53-year-old man from Hürth skidded his BMW for reasons that have so far been unexplained and collided with a smart that was driven by a 79-year-old Portuguese. In this impact, the smart was turned onto the roof, whereby the driver was seriously injured and had to be flown to the hospital with a rescue helicopter. The 53-year-old Hürther suffered minor injuries.

The backlog was another accident in which four vehicles were involved. A 57-year-old and his 59-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries while a 19-year-old woman from Gütersloh was seriously injured. A 58-year-old from Oer-Erkenschwick was not injured. Due to the accidents, the highway towards Hanover had to be temporarily completely blocked, which led to considerable traffic disruptions.
