Illerbeuren, Deutschland - The Swabian open -air museum Illerbeuren is about to change in the museum management. On June 1, 2025, Katharina Wischer will be reported to the new head of the museum, such as merkur.de . Before her new role, Katharina Wischer had been working for the state museums in Berlin in the Humboldt Forum since 2021. Her academic training includes studying ethnology and economics at the University of Leipzig, while she organized the “Museum on the Couch” exhibition series at the Grassi Museum of Ethnology Leipzig. In addition, she brings experience from advice with KPMG and PWC.

With the takeover of the museum management, Wischer returns to her Swabian homeland, where she will live with her family. She has great hopes for the further development of the museum, which, as the oldest open -air museum in Bavaria, accommodates over 30 faithful farmers, workshops and stables.

The Swabian open -air museum Illerbeuren, which was formerly known as a Swabian farm museum, opened the goals for the new season on March 19, 2025. Special attractions include a historic mill, a smithy and a day laborer house. At the start of the season, special tours are offered in the smithy, saddlery and pottery, and the historic bakery ensures culinary delights with freshly baked bread.

In addition, the museum host house "Gromerhof" offers regional specialties, while in the house on rifle culture the tradition of the shooting system in Swabia is discussed. There are also interactive elements and historical exhibits here.

The opening times of the museum are from March 19 to November 10th daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays to 8 p.m. (June 15 to September 15), the museum remains closed on Mondays, except on public holidays and Good Friday. The admission prices are designed as follows:
