Winter highlight: The perfect dinner for fallow deer in the Elbaupark!
On January 31, 2025, a special event will take place in the Elbauenpark in Magdeburg, which will appeal to large and small guests alike. Förster Uwe Frömert invites you to "The Perfect Dinner" in the fallow deer enclosure. The unusual event starts at 10:30 a.m. and offers visitors the opportunity to experience the fallow deer up close and learn more about these fascinating animals. The event is not only entertaining, but also educational.
As part of the event, the fallow animals, including the well -known pack and the eponymous animal "Teddy", are fed with a special diet. The menu includes vegetables as a starter, followed by chestnuts and acorns as the main course. The conclusion is a dessert of grain flakes and fruit. This morning, visitors can ask the forester directly about the animals while they are fed.
public falling deeds
Feeding is part of a public event that is offered on two dates: on January 25th and January 31, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. The meeting point is the fallow deer enclosure, which is located in the area of the great Cracauer Anger. Entry to feed is free so that visitors can watch the animals up close.
During feeding, Förster Frömert conveys interesting information about the feeding behavior of the fallow deer and the preferences of the calves. Climate change and the warm weather conditions that can affect the behavior and appetite of the animals are particularly relevant in these times. When hungry, the animals are even ready to eat out of hand, which is a particularly impressive experience for the guests.
Other offers in the Elbauenpark
The fallow deer enclosure, which includes over 10,000 square meters, houses various color variants of the fallow deer and thus offers a varied view of the different animals. In order to ensure the well -being of the animals, independent feeding by visitors are not permitted because false food can be harmful to the animals.
Another highlight of the Elbaupark is the tropical butterfly house. This is a subtropical paradise with temperatures of 28 degrees, in which 20 different types of moth are presented. Entry to the butterfly house is 1 euro for adults and 50 cents for children. Every Monday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Elbaupark is open in winter, and admission is free of charge by the end of February. Visitors are asked to use the entrance on Breitscheidstrasse.
