Security alarm in Weimar train station: bag causes excitement for train travelers

On Wednesday evening, a suspicious bag at Weimar station caused excitement. The Federal Police Inspection Erfurt received a reference to the property at 7:50 p.m., while due to the friendly between SC Weimar and Eintracht Frankfurt, there were already on -site forces. Measures were taken immediately: parts of the station were cleared and cordoned off.

The defusing service of the federal police was quickly used, and after an intensive examination, the bag could be classified as harmless. The police operations died until shortly after 10:00 p.m. and led to partial closures that affected a total of 7 train connections. The situation could ultimately be mastered without major incidents.
