Fraudsters on the phone: Police warn of shock calls in Viernheim!

On Thursday, February 13th, the police and citizens from Viernheim and Lampertheim received alarm reports on suspicious calls from criminals. These fraudsters were carried out with perfidious methods, such as shock calls and the trick with false police officers, to get to the belongings of the people. Fortunately, no financial damage has been reported so far.

In these "shock calls", the perpetrators vary as desperate relatives, mostly sons or daughters, or as alleged police officers who report on an alleged accident and demand a deposit. The aim is to get the called to hand over money or valuable items such as expensive jewelry. The police have therefore published urgent warnings and tips to help the citizens protect themselves from these fraudulent calls.
