Chemnitzer Tommy Nguyen wants to go to the Bundestag for the party!

Chemnitz, Deutschland - Tommy Nguyen, 30 years old, wants to move into the Berlin Parliament for “Die Party” in the upcoming Bundestag election. The politician born in Chemnitz, who grew up in Rabenstein and currently lives on the Kaßberg, has Vietnamese roots and likes to remember his childhood in the Carlowitz-Park. After his election as a member of the Chemnitz City Council in Chemnitz in 2024, he would like to work for topics such as the unconditional basic income and a legal 4-day week. This has recently occurred in the political discussion, in which the importance of volunteering and reduced working hours are also emphasized.

Since 2016,

nguyen has been a member of “Die Party”, which campaigns for work, the rule of law, animal welfare, elite promotion and grassroots democratic initiatives. Before his political career, he made an apprenticeship as a retail merchant and worked as a mechanic in a bicycle shop. He is single, has no children and he spends his free time with golf games and visiting techno parties.

candidacy and preparations for election

The Bundestag election is scheduled for February 23, 2025, and the district association of "Die Party" chose Tommy Nguyen as direct candidates. In order to be able to compete in the election, the party will need 200 signatures by mid -January 2025. These have to be collected analogously and not digital. Interested parties support the candidacy by printing, filling out and signing a form. The signature can either be given personally at the regulars' table or sent to the party by post.

The signatures collected must be confirmed by the reporting or election office, whereby supporters are encouraged to inform themselves about the modalities in advance. If the signature is successfully confirmed, the supporters receive 17 karma points in the party account. It is important that supporters are living in Chemnitz and must be over 18 years old. It is also necessary to specify correct registration data and to ensure that the support of a party does not affect voting in the election.

A total of 4,506 election applicants are registered for the 2025 federal election. This comprises 1,422 women and 806 people who only run in one constituency. 1,841 candidates only compete on a country list, while 1,859 people run in both a constituency and on a country list.
