Clausnitz, Deutschland - Today, a tragic incident occurred in Clausnitz, which again underlines the importance of precise communication in emergency management. On March 30, 2025, a false emergency call reported due to a spelling mistake, led to the false fire brigade being alerted. Instead of the right unit from Clausnitz (with ’s’), the fire brigade was notified from Claußnitz (with 'ß'), 60 kilometers away. TAG24 reports that the first emergency call was made at 8:26 pm at 8:28 p.m. for clarification. The alarmed fire brigade only reached the site at 8:34:07 p.m., which may have had serious consequences.
Tragically, two homeowners aged 84 and 86 lost their lives in a fire that was triggered as a result of a technical defect in the electrical system in their house. The fire brigade received the false alarm and had to blow out the assignment at 8:444:52 p.m. when the address was identified as incorrect. It remains unclear whether the delays have affected the extinguishing and rescue work.
