Minimum wage alarm: large controls of the customs in Saxony revealed!

The main customs office in Dresden massively intercepted on March 13, 2025 in a large -scale nationwide campaign against undeclared work and illegal employment! Over 100 customs officials checked almost 50 objects in Leipzig, Oschatz, Dresden and other cities, especially in the areas of gastronomy, service, security and freight forwarder. 229 employees were asked about their employment relationships.

The results are alarming: 110 suspicions of violations of social security law and residence law provisions as well as against the statutory minimum wage were uncovered. These finds now have extensive subsequent investigations. In addition, there were several arrests due to searchers. In many cases, companies try to disguise minimum wage violations by incorrectly classifying employees as interns or self -employed. Incomplete or false hourly records are also widespread. The customs authorities work closely with other institutions to uncover and punish these grievances.
